The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Orange County and the Inland Empire recently hosted its 6th annual Christmas Wishes event. This year it took place at Disneyland’s Club 33 to celebrate both the wishes granted this past year and the donors who adopted them.

Board Governance Chair for Make-A-Wish and organizer of Christmas Wishes Tino Pagano presented plaques to certain guests for their contribution to the Foundation this year.“Tonight is a celebration of our wish kids. Each one motivates us as we watch them move gracefully through treatments no child should have to endure,” said Pagano. “Tonight we thank our donors for making wishes happen and for their loyalty, generosity and ongoing commitment to Make-A-Wish.”

President and CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America David Williams personally acknowledged Jon Storbeck, vice president of Park Operations for Disneyland, for the continued support of Storbeck and of Disneyland. Storbeck also serves as Chairman of the Board for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Orange County and the Inland Empire, making Disneyland’s ties to the Foundation even tighter.

Bob Parisi from Merchant Services was among those recognized. Merchant Services, through a sales program benefiting Make-A-Wish, has adopted 41 wishes. It has raised a total of $200,000 over the last three years.Mike Morhaim, CEO of Blizzard Entertainment, was recognized for donating close to $1 million to the national organization through its online game, World of Warcraft. Sideshow Collectibles CEO Greg Anzalone and OC Custom Wine’s Rob Gundling, who founded Christmas Wishes six years ago, also accepted plaques of recognition.

Pagano addressed the donors, saying “On behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s board of directors, executive staff and the more than 325 local wish children who will receive wishes this year, thank you. With your contribution, you’ve become the heart of a child’s wish, who will forever remember their moments of hope, strength and joy.”
